How yoga teachers use Ayurveda to get real results

Ayurvedic doshas

Are you confident giving your students Ayurvedic advice?

Ayurveda is a powerful way to help your students get real results. And they'll LOVE you for it. Adding more Ayurveda skills to your teaching tool-kit helps you to:

  1. Confidently teach private yoga classes your students will love
  2. Know how to choose just the right meditation or pranayama practice for each student
  3. Give personalised lifestyle guidance that makes a real difference to your students' lives

Ayurveda gives yoga teachers a framework for assessing their students and offers simple, practical tools that they really enjoy using. Here’s how:

1. Confidently teach private yoga classes your students will love

How do you know what kind of practice your private students need? What will they love, what will help them manage their wellbeing and what will keep them coming back for more? Ayurveda helps you figure that out. When you asses your student’s dosha, you will understand where their strengths and imbalances lie. You’ll also have a roadmap for know which yoga practices are going to reduce those imbalances. A yoga practice that is carefully crafted to balance your student’s dosha will make them feel fabulous (and make the LOVE your classes).

2. Know how to choose just the right meditation or pranayama practice for each student

Not all meditation types or pranayama practices are right for every student. How do you know what is going to be most effective, and safest practice for your student? Ayurveda answers that question. When you understand your student’s doshas, you will be able to teach them meditation and pranayama techniques that really resonate with them.

3. Give personalised lifestyle guidance that makes a real difference to your students' lives

Students LOVE Ayurvedic lifestyle advice. And there’s much more to it than offering a checklist of foods to avoid based on their dosha. Ayurveda offers a whole new frame for students to view their lives. From Dinacharya (the Ayurvedic daily routine) to self massage (and picking the right oil for your dosha) and simple cleansing routines, Ayurveda gives you so many tools to support, and wow, your students.

I’d love it if EVERY yoga teacher felt confident to share the incredible benefits of Ayurveda with their students.
